Journalist Elnara Gasymova was again summoned for questioning in the case of «Abzas Media».

Journalist Elnara Gasymova was summoned to the Baku city police headquarters at 17.00 on January 13.

She was told that the reason for the call was to clarify the issues that had arisen due to the «Abzas Media» online publication.

Note that Gasymova was already summoned to the city police for questioning as a witness at the beginning of the investigation in this case.

From November 20 to December 14, Ulvi Hasanli, director of «Abzas Media», Sevinj Vagifgyzy, editor-in-chief, activist Mohammad Kekalov, who collaborated with the publication, as well as journalists Nargiz Absalamova and Hafiz Babaly, were detained and arrested.

All are accused of smuggling currency. The journalists reject the accusations and link their criminal prosecution to the anti–corruption investigations of «Abzas Media».
