Nargiz Absalamova’s prison term has been extended

One of the journalists imprisoned in the criminal case related to the publication of AbzasMedia – Nargiz Absalamova it is reported that the period of detention has been extended. It is noted that on February 24, the presentation of the investigative body (Ministry of Internal Affairs) was considered in the Khatai District Court.

This information was given to Azadlig Radio by relatives of the journalist. According to them, the investigator defended the presentation in the court and said that the investigation has not been completed yet, and a number of investigative actions should be carried out on this criminal case.

According to the information provided, N. Absalamova herself and her lawyer objected to the presentation. N. Absalamova said that she did not commit any crime, she was punished for her professional activity.

Her lawyer said that the investigation can be continued without keeping N. Absalamova in prison. Recalling that N. Absalamova did not evade the investigation even before her arrest, the lawyer said that there is no reason to keep her in prison.
