Jeyhun Bayramov receives special representative of Russian Foreign Ministry

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Igor Khovaev, special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, yesterday.

According to the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the meeting discussed Azerbaijani-Russian bilateral relations, mutual action within the framework of regional platforms, the current state and prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the situation in the region.

Bayramov informed his guest about the progress of negotiations on the draft peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He noted that “the claims to the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan that remain in the Constitution and other legislative acts of Armenia are the main obstacle to the peace process.” There was also an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
