Pistorius confirmed that Germany will deploy a brigade in Lithuania

B. Pistorius confirmed that the Bundeswehr will deploy a combat readiness brigade in Lithuania. According to the plans, 4,000 soldiers will be permanently stationed in the country, with their families and children. “We will deploy German soldiers in Lithuania as soon as the necessary infrastructure is created,” said the minister.

B. Pistorius also promised Ukraine long-term support in defending against Russian aggression – “as much as needed”. He warned of dire consequences if Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war was successful. “V. Putin uses ugly, criminal and inhumane methods,” Pistorius said.

The Annual Baltic Conference on Defense was attended by representatives of the Baltic republics, as well as other NATO countries and Ukraine.
