Belarusians living in Lithuania founded a club: the Association of Shooters has already stopped cooperation

The club named “Litvinai” describes itself as a union of Belarusians living in Lithuania. It claims to organize military tactics and self-defense training, physical training, weapons skills, and the like.

“What are we doing? There are different directions of our activities, starting from social, cultural, historical projects, among them the preparation of people, training for possible military conflicts”, Siarhej Šalyhin, the head of the “Litvinai” club, told LNK news.

Club “Litvinai” announces that it is organizing an event this weekend in the premises of the Lithuanian army, in Karininkų Ramovė. They write that their open days will be held here and they will invite more Belarusians to join them.

“We want to confirm that such an event is not planned in the premises of the Lithuanian army. And the permission to organize such an event has not been given”, Jurgis Norvaiša, the representative of the Lithuanian army, emphasized to LNK news.

When asked if such an event will not take place on Sunday in Karininkų Ramovė, J. Norvaiša assured that such an event is not planned in the premises of the Lithuanian army.

The authorities know about this Belarusian paramilitary organization. It is said that it belongs to several dozen people.

“It would be better to ask them, but the fact is that they are apparently thinking about abandoned houses”, – the opinion of the National Security and Defense Committee of the Seimas (NSGK) chairman Laurynas Kasčiūnas.

“No, overthrowing the regime is a public matter, not some paramilitary organization. Of course, we wish for that and we want to return to Belarus, but we do not set such a goal for ourselves,” said the head of the Litvinai club.

At the end of last year, on the initiative of L. Kasčiūnas, the chairman of the Seimas NSGK, citizens of Russia and Belarus were banned from even having weapons. But members of the “Litvinai” club demonstrate on social networks that they are learning to shoot.

“Our shotguns are rubber, plastic. We don’t have any combat weapon”, said S. Šalyhin, the head of the club “Litvinai”.

L. Kasčiūnas said that training with non-combat weapons will not be banned. He claims that Lithuania this process is under control and it does not pose a threat to the country’s national security.

The parliamentarian added that the Russians living in Lithuania do not have such a combat group.
