France to produce speacial masks for deaf and dumb

In France, the production of unique face masks for reading the lips begins, Report says, referring to TASS.

The appliance, which is useful for the deaf, will be produced in a factory near Paris, owned by France Handicap, one of the most significant disabled associations in the country, created in the 30s of the last century. It is planned to release up to 300 of these masks a day.

The feature of such masks is that the lower part is made of transparent plastic so that the mask holder’s lips are visible. A particular substance is applied on the inside to prevent the sweat of this open part.

The idea to make such a mask was put forward in April this year by Anissa Mekrabesh, a 30-year-old dermatologist from Toulouse. According to the World Health Organization, 5 percent of the world’s population is deaf.
