Camil Mammadli (Cəmil Məmmədli)
Journalist Camil Mammadli (Cəmil Məmmədli), who operates in Xachmaz (Xaçmaz), has been arrested.
According to information obtained by “24 saat“, this decision was made by the Sumgayit Court of Grave Crimes.
During the preliminary hearing on August 24, 2023, the prosecutor argued that the accused had obstructed the course of the investigation and influenced the victims in various ways, necessitating his arrest.
The panel of judges, presided over by Judge Fahmin Humbatov (Fəhmin Hümbətov), found the petition to be justified.
As a result, the preventive measure of police supervision imposed on Camil Mammadli (Cəmil Məmmədli) has been replaced with pre-trial detention.
It should be noted that Camil Mammadli (Cəmil Məmmədli) has been criminally charged by the police.
The investigation conducted by the police ultimately charged C. Mammadli (Cəmil Məmmədli) under the Criminal Code’s Articles 178.2.4 (fraud causing significant damage), 182.2.1 (extortion with threat or fear – committed by a group in conspiracy), 182.2.2 (repeated extortion with threat or fear), and 221.2.2 (hooliganism).
