Iran to start producing own COVID vaccine in late spring

Iran will start industrial production of its own COVID vaccine in late spring, said Kianoush Jahanpour, spokesman for Food and Drug Administration of Iran, Report informs referring to TASS.

“The second phase of human trials of the Iran Barakat COV vaccine will be completed by the end of April,” he noted.

In addition, the Pasteur Institute of Iran is developing another coronavirus vaccine jointly with Cuba.

“The first and second phases of its clinical trials were carried out in Cuba,” he said, adding that 100,000 doses of this vaccine were imported by Iran.

He noted that the third phase of clinical trials will begin in two weeks.
