Armenia tries to concentrate military forces around Lake Garagol, enemy’s provocation fails

Armenian has once again tried to commit sabotage in Lachin District segment of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Report quotes a statement from the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

“At noon on November 9, about 60 servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces moved in by two military trucks on the road leading to the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of Lake Garagol in Lachin District and tried to settle in the area. In order to deliberately cause a military confrontation, the Armenian side tried to strengthen the area by closing the road between the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in this area of the border, using baskets made of metal structures. The units of the Azerbaijani Army in this direction carried out urgent measures by concentrating additional personnel and military equipment and took urgent measures.

“As a result of the measures taken, about 60 Armenian servicemen were besieged, all their actions were restricted, and in the morning, taking into account the request of the Russian side, the Azerbaijani military allowed them to return back. We are stating that another military provocation of the Armenian side has failed. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry warns that if similar provocations are repeated in the future, the measures to be taken will be more severe and effective.

“We hope that this embarrassment of the Armenian army will be a lesson to it and such provocative steps will not be allowed in the future. The Azerbaijani army sustained no losses in terms of personnel and territory. At present, the operational conditions are under the full control of our units. All the responsibility for the latest tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border lies with the military-political leadership of Armenia,” the ministry said.
