Azerbaijan starts military draft to army

The next military draft to the active service and transfer to the reserve of military personnel of active military service has begun in Azerbaijan.

Report informs that the conscription is being carried out in accordance with the order of President Ilham Aliyev, dated November 23, 2021.

Under the decree, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 2004, who turned 18 on the day of conscription (including this day), as well as born in 1987-2003, under the age of 35, who have not completed compulsory military service, are not entitled to deferment from conscription for active military service or those not exempt from conscription for active military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan will be sent to active military service from January 1 to 30, 2021.

Also, military personnel of active military service, who have completed the term of service provided for by Article 38.1.1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Military Duty and Military Service” will be retired from January 1 to January 30, 2021.
