Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline resumes operation

The large oil pipeline Kirkuk-Ceyhan, which connects Iraq and Turkey, suffered from an explosion on the evening of January 18, resumed operations on Wednesday, the Daily Sabah reported this, citing Botas, the operating company, Report says.

“The company reported that the fire that broke out due to the explosion is completely extinguished, the necessary work has been completed,” the newspaper writes.

Botas still does not specify what caused the explosion that occurred in southern Turkey.

The company announced that the explosion occurred in the area of Kahramanmaras province in eastern Turkey. The pipeline is used to deliver oil from Iraqi Kirkuk to the Turkish port city of Ceyhan.
