The Justice Department said the group would be led by an expert who had previously led the search for Nazi war criminals.

The group will also investigate potential crimes directly under US jurisdiction.

We are talking about US journalists who died in the war zone.

“America and the world have seen and read about the atrocities caused by Russia’s unjust intervention in Ukraine.”

Venediktova thanked Garland for the US support:

“We understand that we have huge enemies.”

According to a number of experts, serious war crimes have been committed since Russia invaded Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden has called the killings in Bucha, near Kyiv, a war crime.
