North Korea tried to hack the funds of an Israeli company. This attempt by the North Koreans, who presented themselves as the company’s Japanese supplier, was quickly noticed and stopped in time by employees of the Konfidas cyber security company.

Infiltrating the systems of financial institutions and working with hackers was a well-known practice of North Korea, which similarly attempted to bring down the Central Bank of Bangladesh. In Israel, it was only the first attempt and it failed.

Konfidas CEO Ram Levy said in a statement that North Korea uses a different system. According to him, usually such attacks are carried out for ransom, hackers first gain access to information or control systems, and then demand a ransom by threatening the other party with using them.
